Well good question...
I bought the phone water damaged from eBay. I fixed it but every now and then it asks for sim card and sometimes it turns itself off and wont turn on...The thing is I broke one of the earth clips and managed to solder on it a ball kinda thing so it still connects to the aluminium frame...so there goes the warranty...
That is why I did not bother with warranty and being water damaged will void any warranty...
So I thought I look for the part list and find out the value of the components which controls switching on and off and test them maybe I can find the faulty components...unless it s the chips then there is no way of testing that...
It sometimes work and sometimes wont...usually when it on all day it fines...**bleep** when i go to bed and wake up in the morning it says insert sim card...i switch off and it wont turn on...
when i try to turn it on it lights up and then again it goes off...maybe a capacitor or an inductor or something...that is why I want to know the actual value and see if I can pin point the fault as I am an electronic tech...
im beging with water damage phones cause its the easiest to fix...
now I got the **bleep** nokia's original schematic diagram and also the service manual which shows you step by step how to disassemble the phone...but there is no parts list included in the schematic/circuit diagram which make is way harder...
